      We read with great interest the study by Dr Hodhod et al. who compared six different techniques for measuring anteroposterior diameter (APD) of the renal pelvis [

      ]. They found little difference in APD according to patient position, but did find a significant difference between intrarenal, renal contour and extrarenal APD.
