I read the article recently published in the Journal of Pediatric Urology and titled
“Ano-Scrotal Distance (ASD); Is it a marker for the severity of chordee?” [
[1]
]. This study described the correlation between Ano Scrotal Distance (ASD) and the
severity of hypospadias as depicted by both meatal position and the degree of curvature
in a large cohort of patients.- Wirmer J.

Based on the work of Alberto Pena regarding the posterior sagittal approach for anorectal anomalies, it is generally known that the midline of the perineum is devoid of fat, which is the reason for the recommendation for the incision to be strictly in the midline [1]. Similarly, in our study, we did not encounter a single patient with pad of fat in the midline. In addition, we find that the anterior anal verge is well defined and is easy to measure.
